Obtaining resources and construction

There are two types of items in State of Decay:

Items such as weapons, drinks, and ammunition, which you can store in (the supply locker), you will receive influence points for this. You can always select items from the bank to complete the mission.

Resources necessary for the survival of your community at the base. They allow you to expand buildings, temporarily strengthen your community, etc.

Resources can be found in closed containers when searching in different locations. Once you find the package, you can:

Open the container in place (by holding the attack button: Break Open) - typical items will drop out of the container, such as those that you find at each step.

Remove the container (by holding down the jump button: Load backpack) and deliver it to the base. This will give you a resource for the community, but having such a burden on your back quickly consumes stamina when running and fighting.

Call the radio runners who will take charge of the base (Radio Home).

Remember that resources are important and crucial for survival. In the early stages, you will need materials for buildings, then food and medicine, and at the end of the game you will start to run out of fuel and ammunition. So try to return with a backpack every time you leave the base, and if possible, call the runners.

When building additional buildings in addition to the usual building materials, you will often need certain items. If the resources of materials are exhausted during construction, Lily will tell you what you need to find, such as copper pipes, pans, bolts, or punching bags to finish the construction. Such items won't fit in a backpack, and you don't need to carry them as a resource.
