People live and work here
Even children become heroes. One thirteen-year-old boy has already killed more than one hundred and thirty enemies. Aren't the heroines the women of South Vietnam? Wives who have been separated from their husbands for about twenty years, mothers who forget the appearance of their sons...
And in the North, in the Tierra del Fuego of Vinh-Li-nya, north of the demarcation line, where on average there are 7 tons of bombs and shells for every person, just living and working is already heroism.
And people here not only live, but also work, go out into the fields, plant rice and harvest. They go out to sea, fish and transport food and ammunition to the islands. And they are trying to increase the harvest and give the country more fish. They have dug their homes underground and decorate them, they cherish the best human feelings. Fighting against the enemy is becoming a family tradition here. Everyone here is in mourning and mourning the dead, and yet these people are humane enough to pull out of the water and bury the corpse of an American pilot, the murderer of their loved ones.
Duty to the Motherland occupies a central place in the life of a Vietnamese. And in areas that had been flooded unprecedented in a century, from villages flooded with water, from fields that had disappeared under a layer of water, through frantically rushing streams, young people were sent to army recruitment points on time. The workers of the repair brigades, the soldiers of the anti-aircraft artillery units defending the famous Hamrong Bridge, the workers of the power plants and the peasants of the nearby villages received the title of heroic collectives. It was their efforts that kept the bridge in service, they shot down the aces of the US Air Force. All the people of Vietnam are dedicated to defending their homeland.
In an effort to take their place in the fighting ranks, Vietnamese cinema workers plunge into the thick of life, study the beautiful and harsh reality, pointing the lens of their camera at its most typical features. Film workers in Vietnam can be seen where the situation is most tense, where hard work is triumphant or a fierce battle is raging. Many of our comrades fought shoulder to shoulder with their heroes and died without finishing their works, without realizing their plans. In such conditions, our films were created, in them we tried to capture the rhythm of life, to reflect the breath of today. They are already known to you.
Nevertheless, we Vietnamese cinematographers believe that so far our cinematography has not been able to show the image of our contemporary with all the vividness and persuasiveness on the screen. This means that we cannot say that we have fully fulfilled our duty to promote and educate socialist and communist ideology and morality, and, of course, we cannot say that we have fully fulfilled our duty to the epoch and history. We also consider it necessary to display on the screen the images of those who paved the way for us: the first Vietnamese Communists, who devoted their entire lives to serving the people and the party, the revolution and the liberation of the nation, in particular the image of our beloved leader Ho Chi Minh. Making a film about Uncle Ho, about the leaders of the party and the people is the cherished dream of every Vietnamese cinematographer.
In the confrontation with aggressors and traitors, in conditions when American "psychological warfare specialists" and the American intelligence apparatus in the South of our country have been instilling a reactionary, decadent "culture" and ideology for a number of years, poisoning the consciousness of the younger generation, socialist cinematography sees its duty in the struggle for the souls of people, in exposing aggression and betrayal, corruption and lies, in the glorification of the socialist ideals of goodness and beauty, democracy and peace.
We are deeply grateful to those fellow filmmakers from the USSR and other countries who came to us at the behest of their hearts, shared with us the difficulties of the struggle and the glory of victories, created their films under enemy fire, risking their lives. Our people watch films with deep emotion.
Vietnamese cinematography is still very young. We face many unresolved issues. We still have a lot to do. But we believe that we will cope with our tasks and fulfill our duty, because the future belongs to the young, because the young have warm hearts and strong hands. We are following the path indicated by Lenin and Ho Chi Minh, we perceive the experience of fraternal cinematography of the Country of the Soviets and other socialist countries, and we rely on the support of the most advanced forces in the world. That is why we face tomorrow with confidence. Existing users enjoy regular promotions, but new players must start with the best possible offer.
